Greetings and welcome to the website for So Hum Studios, a home based mini spiritual center that offers yoga, creative movement and meditation sessions to the mindful members of Brooklyn and beyond.
Yoga is a sacred and ancient practice that offers several benefits which include toning and strengthening the body, increasing overall flexibility, releasing toxins, and calming the mind. Yoga translated from the language Sanskrit means 'union', yoga fosters a steady uniting of the physical body, mind and spirit. This joining of our 3 spheres of being helps us to reach a point of balance that can be enjoyed both on and off the yoga mat. This precious tool that can help us develop clarity of mind and strength of will in every situation.
In Yoga one has the chance to gaze inward and explore the true Self. The ancients proclaimed that one of the major keys towards success and enlightenment is to "know thyself". Within the spaces where the body and the breath meet, one can find a sense of knowing and purpose.

Yoga is a prayer and a meditation. The body, mind and spirit moving as one. It supports a feeling of being happy, healthy and whole. Yoga nurtures and heals all aspects of Self, encouraging a sense of stability and bliss. In Yoga we find the balance between effort and surrender, the in breath and the out breath, the holding on and the letting go.

It also increases the lubrication of joints, ligaments and tendons of the body. Many studies have concurred that Yoga is the only form of physical activity that provides complete exercise to the body, because it massages all the internal organs and glands. This helps prevent disease and maintain overall wellness.
So Hum Studios invites you to come and move, breathe, stretch, tone, strengthen and feel good about the person you are Now, and the person you are Becoming. All sessions are pay as you wish ($5 suggested) and open to all ages, genders and levels of expertise. Whether you are a brand new beginner to Yoga or have asana-ed your way to India and back, we welcome you to come and experience all the benefits that Yoga has to offer. It is an art of discovery, opening doors to a sense of deep love and compassion for the true Self, which in turn leads one towards a sense of love and compassion for all.
